In a world full of 16 year old mothers, I sometimes feel a bit behind in adulthood compared to some of my peers (let me clarify adulthood and being responsible are two totally different things). On January 23rd I turn 20. I'm not really sure how that works because I still shed tears at the sight of a puppy. I'm also a bit confused because although I have an idea of what I'd like to do in the future, it still isn't extremely clear.
My dreams are vague. I haven’t pin pointed my life long career, what my last name will be (unless Gosling counts), and I definitely have not picked out any kids names (more power to you if you have all this figured out). My dream is to be successful and happy.
Are there steps to turning 20? Is there a guide I should read? Will they send me my guide in the mail or should I pick it up at the post office?
How do you do that one thing where you stop being a teenager? I mean, sometimes I still feel like this version of me during my awkward middle school years:
As anyone else, I don’t have all the answers. I won’t be following a set of rules. I’ll be taking each step at a time, learning and growing. For me, I will be letting life live.
I will do what makes me happy.
I will discover myself.
I will finally get those six-pack abs (maybe).
I’ll make mistakes.
I’ll learn and flourish from those mistakes.
I’m excited for the journey I’m about to make and am excited to bring you all along with me! Just as I’m not sure where my life will take me, I’ll assure you, I’m not sure what my posts will consist of. Probably a lot of awkward moments, maybe life advice that I’m still trying to convince myself to use, and most likely anything food. Welcome.
